Come rain or shine, Snowdonia National Park is worth its weight in gold for wonderful walks.
The Swallow Falls trail is no different: experience the roar of the Swallow Falls on this beautiful walk deep in the Gwydir Forest.

Overview of the Swallow Falls Walk in the Gwydir Forest
You’ll start and finish this walk at the Ty’n Llwyn car park — around four miles west of Betws y Coed off the A5. The trail stretches through the forest to a viewpoint over the famous Swallow Falls waterfall. The route then makes its way through the woodland and passes another viewpoint over the mountaintops of Snowdonia National Park. You’ll find a postcard-perfect scene, especially after a heavy rain. You may not be able to get right up close to the falls, but the viewpoint means you get to take in just how vast the landmark is.
This walk is a solid option in wet weather — and there’s a lot of that in the UK — as the forest will provide plenty of cover. If it’s not picnic-appropriate, there are plenty of cafés and pubs in the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed just a stone throw away.

The walk takes around an hour on a nice day, but allow for some extra time to really make the most of the viewpoints. That picture-perfect shot might not come first time.

How Hard Is The Swallow Falls Walk in Gwydir Forest?
