Pentrefoelas Walks: A Complete Guide

Pentrefoelas, is a rural village in Conwy County Borough in North Wales. It takes its name from “Foel-las”, a nearby hill, which was historically the site of a medieval castle. While this is cool, it’s not actually the reason people travel from afar.

Pentrefoelas is the starting point for five circular walks, each attracting seasoned walkers, hikers, tourists, and locals. The walks follow fields, moorland paths, tracks, and lanes, offering a trail for everyone.

The 5 Circular Walks

There are 5 circular walks on public footpaths that begin and end in the centre of the village. These walks — ranging from 2.5 miles to 9 miles — offer an opportunity to explore and enjoy the surrounding areas.

  • Route A: 2.5 miles (4 km)
  • Route B: 9 miles (14.5 km)
  • Route C: 7.2 miles (11.6 km)
  • Route D: 4.7 miles (7.6 km)
  • Route E: 3.4 miles (5.5 km)

On route you’ll see wildflowers,  ancient woodlands, and the natural beauty of Hiraethog. You can find details of the walks and an accompanying map here.
